Introduction to partnership with Sport Inclusion Australia

Represent the ACT

Did you know there are all kinds of opportunities to represent the ACT and Australia in interstate and overseas competitions? Through our partnership with Sport Inclusion Australia, one of our goals is to support local athletes to pursue their sporting dreams.

Sport Inclusion Australia is a National Sporting Organisation established in 1986 to assist the inclusion of people with an impairment, primarily an intellectual impairment into the mainstream community using sport as the medium.

If you, or the athlete you support, are selected in an ACT representative team competing in a Sport Inclusion Australia (SIA) recognised competition they will need to register with SIA and apply for eligibility to be able to play in the competition or championships.

Sport Inclusion Australia requires all athletes seeking eligibility to provide the following documents for review:

  • A completed SIA National Eligibility Application Form

  • Formal documents with evidence of Intellectual Disability including IQ testing (ie; Psychological Assessment)

  • Any other supporting documents (ie: Enrollment in Disability Unit Education, Supported Work Program)
